Hats are a quick and easy gift, and this hat is a great way to learn fair isle (stranding colors) or improve your fair isle skills! Kits are available for $40 in the colors pictured below, or for the colors of your choice from our shop for an additional $10 fee. The ear flaps and tassel are optional and attached once the main hat is done.

Supplies (not included with price of class, please buy needed supplies at Sun Dragon):

• Approximately 50-100 yards of 4 colors of bulky weight yarn

• size US 5 and 7 16” circular needles and size 7 DPNs (double point needles), or size needed for gauge, approximately 20 stitches for 4” on larger needles.

• Stitch Markers

• Drops Wild Blueberries hat pattern, free on Ravelry. I will provide the hat pattern and modifications for the adult sizing/colorwork in the kit or with the class if you have your own yarn.

• Kits available for purchase with yarn and pattern for $40

• We strongly recommend completing the brim before coming to the class, so we can use class time to work on fair isle technique. Here are the instructions: with smaller needles, cast on 112 stitches and join in the round. Work k2, p2 ribbing for 1.5-2” or desired length of ribbing. If you have not worked in the round before, contact the shop for a time to start you on this before the class!
