Knit your first sweater! We will all work together on a basic crew neck sweater to learn the fundamentals of a pieced sweater: back, front, and sleeves will be made separately and sewn together at the end. We will meet every two weeks to discuss and learn the basics of sweaters, including: increasing and decreasing, measurements, blocking, seaming, picking up stitches, and more. The class fee *does not* include supplies, though does cover a minimum of 6 class meetings. The first meeting will be at 2 on March 24, followed by 4 pm meetings every 2 weeks following (April 7, April 21, May 5, May 19, June 2). If you cannot make a meeting we can meet one-on-one to discuss what you missed. If meetings need to be rescheduled for whatever reason, updates to the schedule will be sent via email.

Supplies (not included with price of class, please buy needed supplies at Sun Dragon):

• Approximately 800-1900 yds of worsted weight yarn, depending on the size you choose to make
• Size 8 US needles (straight or circular for body/sleeve knitting, 16" circular for neck)  Purchase your own version of the Tramontane by Amy Herzog. This is available for $9.95 at customfit.com: it requires a free signup and putting in your personal measurements to get a personalized pattern. We will do this in the first class together, or if you want to buy materials ahead of time we can do it beforehand, please make an appointment! Customizable patterns are fantastic for getting a better fit.
• We may need stitch markers, any way you have of keeping track of row count, tapestry needle for seaming, etc.
